An entrepreneur and investor with experience in several industries, Theodore “Ted” Catino cofounded GigSmart, a mobile application that connects employers and workers in the gig economy. Outside of his work with GigSmart and other ventures, Ted Catino enjoys traveling. He has been to numerous places in Asia, including Macau.
An autonomous territory west of the Pearl River Delta, Macau offers a number of historic places to visit. The following are just a few:
– Ruins of St. Paul
Constructed in the 17th century, the Ruins of St. Paul are what remains of St. Paul’s Cathedral after a fire in 1601. The church was rebuilt in 1637 and modeled after the Church of the Gesù in Rome.
– A-Ma Temple
The A-Ma Temple dates back to 1488, when it was constructed on the Macau Peninsula. One of Macau’s most important religious sites, this Buddhist temple is part of the Historic Center of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
– Dom Pedro V Theatre
Dom Pedro V Theatre is located at Largo de Santo Agostinho and features a neo-classical design. Macau’s first Western-style theater, the institution serves as a venue for public events and celebrations.
